Senator Dino Melaye says he will “soon” get a wife amid rumour he impregnated a woman while dating another, Igbere TV reports. Melaye spoke on his future in a post to Instagram on Saturday morning, threatening that his wife would deal with rumour peddlers.     “Na wa oooo. Nothing, however, is known to the public about the children’s mother(s). In September 2020, one of his sons graduated from an undisclosed school.   READ ALSO:  Baba Ijesha: Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing, Others Embarrass Nollywood – Theater Elders

Baba Ijesha: Iyabo Ojo, Nkechi Blessing, Others Embarrass Nollywood – Theater Elders

The leadership of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) have waded into the legal matter involving Olarenwaju Oyiminka aka Baba Ijesha. The Board of Trustees (BoT) and Elders of the Nigerian Motion Picture Industry addressed the media on Saturday over the issue. Baba Ijesha faces six-count charges bordering on the indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration, among others. But Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on Thursday granted him N2 million bail. In their positions, Adebayo Salami and Jide Kosoko, TAMPAN BoT Chairman and Secretary condemned the “malicious damages” by “unruly individuals that lack any iota of discipline and seem to feel to be above the law”. “We particularly observe the continuous derogatory statements made by Iyabo Ojo against the association and the industry as a whole.” Nothing that they were against all forms of sexual assault, the communique accused...

Arsenal's Hopes Signing Young Midfielder Boosted By Contract Refusal

Arsenal fans have been subjected to many unbelievable transfer rumours in the last few weeks, but our links to the Toulouse striker Amine Adli looks like a real possible target. Adli plays in the French Ligue 2 but he has garnered many admirers from the top Leagues, with AC Milan, Dortmund, Leicester and Arsenal named as suitors in the press recently. The 21 year-old has hit the headlines in France as Adli was named Ligue 2 player of the year after scoring eight goals and eight assists for Toulouse as a winger or attacking midfielder, but is available right now after refusing to sign a new contract with the Tolosans.     Amine Adli turns down contract amid Arsenal transfer linkshttps://t.co/PanTJmSwTD pic.twitter.com/NAhBshJFEp     — Mirror Football (@MirrorFootball) June 25, 2021 The Toulouse President Damien Comolli said about Amine Adli, who has 12 months remaining on his current contract. “He is here, he has an extension offer. Football insider TOld That Rumoured Arsenal Signing Will Not Be Happen

Gabby Agbonlahor doesn’t believe that there is any possibility of Arsenal signing James Maddison from Leicester City. The Gunners have been linked with a move to try and tempt the England international away from the Foxes this summer, as a possible alternative to Martin Odegaard, who now looks set to stay with Real Madrid for the upcoming campaign. Agbonlahor doesn’t believe there is anyhope for Arsenal tempting Maddison away however, not only claiming that Leicester can afford to pay better than we can, but goes as far as to say that Leicester are a ‘top-six team’, unlike us… “I don’t see that happening at all, to be honest,” Agbonlahor told the FootballInsider. “Leicester are in Europe, Arsenal aren’t. Leicester are a top-six team, Arsenal aren’t. I just don’t see that happening. “Leicester can pay very big wages, I’ve heard from people there. Maddison will be on very good money and probably more than Arsenal can pay him, to be honest. “For me, that transfer doesn’t happen. Not...

Millwall Set To Win Race For Highly Rated Arsenal Centre Back

Arsenal’s 21-year-old defender Daniel Ballard is set to finalize a loan deal at Millwall, according to FootballInsider. The Northern Ireland international hugely impressed at Blackpool in the English third division last year. He was an instrumental part of the team that went on to get promoted to the Championship. His development will now continue at a better league and in a better team, who finished 11th in England’s second tier league. The Lions were not the only ones who were fighting for Ballard’s signature. Some of the top half teams from Championship as well as Blackpool showed great interest. But it now looks like the 21-year-old will be plying his trade at The Den next campaign.     Daniel Ballard edging towards a move to Millwall for the season. Not signed yet and medical still to be completed, but it’s heading in that direction. Several Championship clubs, including Blackpool again, had been trying to sign him. pic.twitter.com/aCb1VrMefK     — Cha...

IPOB Fires Back, Accuses Gumi Of Sponsoring Banditry

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday, responded to the Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi who had compared the movement to criminal bandits. Gumi had stated this during an interview with AriseTV. IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu reacted to the cleric’s statement via the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful. Kanu insisted that Gumi was a terrorist with no empathy for victims of terrorism in the country. The IPOB leader dared Gumi to stop twisting facts, stressing that the group was not against Northerners in the South-East but terrorists. An excerpt from the IPOB statement reads,     “The attention of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the latest ranting and ridiculous claims by terrorist apologist, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, that IPOB, and Eastern Security Network, ESN, were killing Northerners. There is no iota of truth in such mischievous and fallacious claims.     “In case the self-acclaimed Islamic cleric ha...

Arsenal’s Andre Onana Stance Explained With Priorities Set

The case on Andre Onana has gone cold since it became clear Arsenal had registered genuine interest in the goalkeeper’s signature earlier in May. Even with the outcome of his appeal against a doping ban decided, there is still no concrete movement. It was telling of the interest in Onana that once his Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) hearing was heard that every major Arsenal correspondent immediately jumped on the updates. There was no chance of any supporter missing the verdict. Now available to train with his new club from September and play competitively again in November, the excitement around his future has died down. Fellow European sides have weighed in with interest, including a top eight Premier League side, and Mikel Arteta’s side could risk losing him if they don’t act fast. Available at a snip for around £7m, the situation is a tough one for Arsenal to navigate around as that move could prompt an entire overhaul of the goalkeeping department. Arsenal’s Andre Onana stan...

Arsenal Eye Move To Sign £50m Hitman As Arteta Looks To Bolster Attack

Arsenal are eyeing a move to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin but may have to pay around £50m to land the Everton hitman this summer, according to reports. Mikel Arteta is expected to be extremely busy in the transfer market over the coming weeks as he looks to overhaul his squad following another disappointing campaign that saw Arsenal finish eighth in the table and miss out on European qualification for the first time in 25 years. The Spanish boss is reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper, at least two defenders, a couple of midfielders and a new No.10 but it appears Arteta is also planning to revamp his attacking options this summer. The Telegraph claims that Calvert-Lewin has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal and the Gunners could launch a move to sign the Everton hitman if they manage to offload some unwanted players first. The likes of Granit Xhaka, Hector Bellerin, Joe Willock, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreria are all expected to leave the Emir...

Arsenal Ready To Pay Striker's Release Clause

Alexander Isak could head to Arsenal this summer with the Gunners prepared to pay his release clause. The striker has been in fine form for his club and country over the last year and Arsenal has been watching him. He scored 17 goals for Real Sociedad last season and has followed that up by terrorising defences at Euro 2020. His form has increased competition for his signature with AS reporting that Real Madrid also wants to sign him. The report says Los Blancos is facing competition with Arsenal and the Gunners are serious about their intention to sign him. They haven’t spoken to his current club yet, but they have opened talks with his representatives. The report says they want to know if he would be willing to join them this summer. If the Swede agrees to move to the Emirates, Arsenal will pay his release clause of around 70m euros claims the same report. They will do this to avoid being in the queue for his signature considering that several top teams with European football a...

APC May Face Challenges After Buhari’s Exit In 2023 – Senate Ahmad Lawan

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, may face challenges after the exit of President Muhammadu Buhari from office in 2023, except timely interventions are taken to avert same. Mr Lawan gave the warning on Monday night in a speech delivered to close the First Progressives Youth Conference 2021 which held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. According to him, the party must begin to plan ahead to sustain the goodwill and legacies of the present administration by ensuring that its leaders hand over power to competent youths in the All Progressives Congress. He noted that by doing so, the party would be able to retain its appeal and nationalistic outlook beyond the 2023 general elections. He said:     “Whether we like it or not, the truth is, President Muhammadu Buhari remains the person with the bulk of the support we get across this country in APC.     “And when he leaves, he would still have some r...

Fuel Scarcity Looms In Abuja, Kaduna, Others As Marketers Begin Strike

Abuja, Niger, Kaduna and neighbouring locations may face petrol scarcity in the coming days as oil marketers who distribute products in these areas have commenced an industrial action. Oil dealers under the aegis of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Suleja/Abuja Unit, started the strike on Monday following disagreements between them and the Department of Petroleum Resources. On Sunday, the marketers threatened to embark on strike over alleged extortion by DPR officials, a claim that was denied by the regulator, as it argued that its demand from the marketers was a statutory requirement. The IPMAN Chairman, Suleja/Abuja Unit, Yahaya Alhassan, had kicked against DPR’s request for daily stock of products supplied by dealers who patronise the Suleja depot in Niger State, describing it as unethical. But the Head, Public Affairs, DPR, Paul Osu, argued that the request was a statutory regulatory requirement for any retail outlet licence holder, which enabled DPR to p...

The Clearout Begins As Arsenal's First Two Transfers Officially Confirmed

At last we have some positive Arsenal transfer news in the summer window, with our first outgoing deals having now been officially confirmed by the club. The moves of Zech Medley to Oostende and Trae Coyle to Lausanne are not going to bring in much in the way of funds but it takes two players off our books that have failed to make a breakthrough into the senior squad at age 20. With the ridiculous number of centre-backs that Mikel Arteta has to choose from, Medley was hardly going to get his League debut if he stayed at the Emirates. The 20 year-old hardly set the world alight on loan terms at League One Gillingham or in the Scottish League with Kilmarnock, so it is probably for the best that he looks for regular football further afield. Coyle was also on loan at Gillingham at the same time, and managed two goals in 13 games in League One, but obviously not impressive enugh to generate offers from any big clubs. In their farewell message to Medley, Arsenal.com described how close he ca...

Arsenal Return With Second Bid For Anderlecht's Lokonga

Arsenal have made their second offer for Anderlecht’s Albert Sambi Lokonga, according to reports. The Belgian reporter Sven Claes and English reporter Chris Wheately have both confirmed the news on Monday morning. The offer is believed to be €14m + €3m in bonuses (add ons). The midfielder is highly coveted across Europe, with German giants Bayern Munich also credited to hold an interest. Although that bid is unlikely to be accepted, there is confidence in both the camps that the deal can be wrapped up imminently. The young Belgian midfielder made it to the 33-man provisional squad of Belgium for the ongoing Euros, but failed to make the final draft. With the squad that Roberto Martinez has on his disposal, getting selected in the provisional squad is still a big feat for a 21-year-old. The central midfielder, who is technically good on the ball, made 37 appearances for Vincent Kompany’s team in the last campaign. The 21-year-old also has a dressing room voice, after already taking over...

Bellerin Claims Arteta Has 'Completely Changed' Arsenal In Way Fans Won't Recognise

The Gunners defender believes positive progress is being made under a manager who has tweaked the way players work. Hector Bellerin claims that Mikel Arteta has "completely changed" Arsenal, but not in a way that will be immediately recognisable to supporters and pundits. A familiar face returned to Emirates Stadium in December 2019, with the former Gunners captain taking on his first managerial job in the wake of Unai Emery's dismissal. Positive steps forward were taken in FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs, but inconsistency has remained an issue in north London as further change on and off the field continues to be mooted. What has been said? Bellerin is convinced that Arsenal have the right man at the helm, telling the High Performance Podcast of progress being made under Arteta: "I think personally at Arsenal that’s something (emphasis on off the ball movement) that has changed a lot. "I think the ethics and the way they work since Mikel has been the mana...

Former Nigeria Aviation minister, Femi Fani Kayode has stated via his Instagram handle that former Nigeria Head of State, Late General Sani Abacha was murdered by the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) of the United States of America. Kayode stated that Abacha was murdered with poison administered to him through a handshake by one of late Yasser Ararat’s bodyguards, and that former Head of states, Babangida and Obasanjo were part of the plan. Kayode also stated that the CIA also killed Chief M.K.O. Abiola. Femi Fani Kayode wrote;     “General Sani Abacha was killed by one of late Yasser Ararat’s bodyguards. He administered poison to him through a handshake. This was done at the behest of the CIA.     Two former Nigerian Heads of State and a former Head of Military Intelligence who are also CIA agents knew about the plan.     The same people decided that Chief MKO Abiola had to be killed as well in order to balance the equation. The CIA,...

Arsenal Submit 4 Bids With Midfielder And Defender Arrivals Close

Arsenal are not messing around this summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta insisted he wanted to get his business done as soon as he could, just like all managers, but the Gunners appear to be doing that just after a sluggish start with four offers made within a week and two edging completion. It’s all a bit hectic at the minute. Missing out on Emi Buendia – which turned out not to be as such – set the disappointed ball rolling. Seeing a target move to a club that finished below Arsenal in the Premier League table didn’t set the summer up for a roaring success – but that’s been forgotten about very quickly. Wasting no time in moving for their preferred targets, Arteta’s side are pushing through with deals for players in various positions, while also opening lines of communication with other clubs over potential sales. Early signs are that it’s going to be a big summer. Fans were promised an ‘unprecedented’ and ‘ruthless’ one, with the indications being that the manager is staying true to...

2nd Bid Incoiming: Arsenal Confident Of Finalising Lokonga Deal In Weeks

Arsenal are believed to be confident of finalising a deal for Albert Sambi Lokonga over the next few weeks, after their first bid was knocked back. Football.London report that Arsenal are confident of finalising at least two incoming deals over the next few weeks, and Albert Sambi Lokonga of Anderlecht is believed to be one of the two. Sam Dean of the Telegraph confirms Arsenal are hopeful of getting the deal done. Goal, Football.London, and the Evening Standard all report that Arsenal have made an offer of around £13m for Lokonga, which was knocked back. But that hasn’t quelled their interest or optimism in completing a deal. Goal claim dialogue between Arsenal and Anderlecht is continuing, with Arsenal hopeful of reaching a compromise and expected to make a second offer. HLN in Belgium claim Lokonga is leaving, adding that Arsenal have made an offer and Bayern Munich are following the situation closely. Di Marzio add that Atalanta and Napoli are also interested, but Arsenal are ahead...

Arsenal Target Maddison And Step Up White And Lokonga Talks As Summer Overhaul Gathers Pace

The Gunners are keen to strengthen in a number of areas in the coming weeks, with Mikel Arteta hoping to make his first summer signings soon. Arsenal’s summer transfer business is beginning to pick up pace, with the club pushing hard to wrap up their first signings of the window. Despite all the talk of a major summer overhaul during the final weeks of last season, it has been slow going so far in north London, with no major arrivals or departures since the end of the 2020-21 campaign. But things are now beginning to move, with sources at the Emirates Stadium confident that their summer plans are starting to take shape. Bids have gone in for Brighton defender Ben White and Anderlecht midfielder Albert Lokonga, who are both priority targets, and although they were rejected, improved offers are expected as talks over both intensify. So what is the state of play at Arsenal as things stand? Goal take a look... Rejected bids Arsenal have seen two bids rejected in the past week, having submi...

Arsenal Face Rival Interest For Onana As Demand Grows In Ajax Goalkeeper

The Gunners are keen on the Cameroon international but have yet to table an offer for the 25-year-old Arsenal face competition to sign Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana as rival interest has grown since  the verdict by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to reduce his doping ban. Onana had been serving a year-long suspension following a positive out-of-competition test for Furosemide but after appealing UEFA’s original punishment, the Ajax goalkeeper had his ban reduced to nine months by CAS. That has led to increased interest in the 25-year-old, who will be allowed to leave Ajax this summer before his contract expires at the end of the 2021-22 season. Have Arsenal made an offer? Arsenal have been monitoring Onana’s situation closely during the past few months having initially been interested in signing him last January. Technical director Edu and manager Mikel Arteta are big admirers of the Cameroon international, but the Gunners have yet to firm up their interest with an off...

Reports May Arsenal Are In Positive Talks With Ben White

Arsenal hold ‘more positive talks’ with Brighton man Arsenal have held positive talks with England and Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White, according to the DailyMail. As reported earlier, the Seagulls have slapped a fee of £50 Million on their academy prospect, by which they hope to put off his admirers, which include the likes of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. Leeds United made three bids for the English defender last summer, with the third and highest a whopping £25 Million, all being rejected by Brighton. Fast forward a year and the 23 year-old will demand an even higher fee due to a year’s Premier League experience, and with being called up to England’s European Championship squad. The reported £40-50 Million pricetag is hardly going to be sticking point for the Gunners, who appreciate him massively and are thought to be preparing a “concrete offer” in the coming days.     🗣 "He's destined for an amazing future."     Jamie Redknapp s...

Arsenal Forced Into Huge Martin Odegaard Transfer Rethink

Arsenal grew very fond of Martin Odegaard. Mikel Arteta certainly did and so too a large portion of the club’s fans, although there was always the fear of growing overly attached to a player that would only be flirting with the Premier League. It appears the attachment won’t blossom. It took only 20 matches for Arteta to be swayed by the Norwegian. Having pulled off an impressive coup in bringing the midfielder to north London in the January transfer market, what transpired was nothing even remotely resembling the ill-fated Denis Suarez move, nor was there much comparison to Dani Ceballos. Odegaard wasn’t perfect, though. Guilty of going missing in certain matches brought upon a few overboard critics, just as there were some overzealous appraisals for him following a strong performance or two. When Arsenal were in control of ...

Arsenal Offer Eddie Nketiah Shock Contract Extension

With the summer transfer window officially open there aren’t many certainties of what may happen at Arsenal. Knowing who may arrive, who may leave and at what price is difficult to nail down with speculation rife, but Eddie Nketiah departing felt like one of few debatable points. Having wrestled his way into first team action towards the back end of the 2019/20 season, Nketiah looked like becoming a regular face among the senior group. Alexandre Lacazette had to take a backseat in the final part of Mikel Arteta’s first season, and while still rough around the edges, Nketiah had shown signs of progress. Those chances continued into the previous campaign. Featuring in some capacity in 12 of the opening 14 Premier League matches of the season it was clear there was some trust in the striker from his manager, the like that wasn’t truly pounced upon. The 22-year-old would play just 104 minutes across five league appearances from matchday 14, losing his place in the team and squad. A lo...

Arsenal To Complete First Summer Transfer With £16m Deal

Granit Xhaka has agreed a five year contract with Roma and will complete his move to the Italian giants imminently, football.london understands. The midfielder has been targeted by new Roma boss Jose Mourinho who has been in regular contact with Xhaka over the past couple of weeks. While the final fee has not been disclosed, sources involved in the deal have told football.london that it is expected to be in the region of €20m (£17m). Xhaka was persuaded to stay at Arsenal by manager Mikel Arteta in January 2020, with a move to Hertha Berlin in advanced stages after the 28-year-old agreed terms with the Bundesliga side. The former Borussia Monchengladbach captain, who is also admired by his former club, is happy in London and recently became a father for the second time, but is understood to be attracted by the prospect of playing under new Roma boss Jose Mourinho, whom he has huge respect for. Since arriving from Gladbach in 2016, Xhaka has made over 200 appearances for the Gunners and...
