Arsenal are set to revive their interest in Leipzig playmaker Christopher Nkunku this summer, according to reports.
The north Londoners have been fans of the Frenchman for many seasons – going back to his time at PSG – and are now prepared to return to the table for the 23-year-old star to add some firepower to Mikel Arteta’s options, as claimed by Sky in Germany.
Christopher continues to go from strength to strength in his early career and has impressed this term with seven goals and six assists across all competitions.
His displays are believed to be attracting interest from a host of top sides in Europe, with Real Madrid allegedly in the running too.
Earlier this year French media claimed that Los Blancos were quoted £27 million for Christopher with Zinedine Zidane believed to be tracking the ace’s progress with a handful of stars ageing and facing uncertain futures.
Nkunku had a campaign to remember in the last season too – notching five goals and 13 assists in the German top-flight – and Leipzig will be facing a battle to retain the services of him, along with a number of their top stars.
Having lost star attacker Timo Werner to Chelsea for £53 million last summer, the German outfit are expected to receive offers for midfielder Marcel Sabitzer – with Tottenham keen – and centre-back Ibrahima Konate closing in on a transfer to Liverpool.
The club have already sold key defender Dayot Upamecano to rival Bayern Munich, so they’ll be desperate not to lose another big name in Christopher.

Another Spanish coach, Mikel Arteta, has found room for the 28-year-old within his plans, though, and it could be that fresh terms are now thrashed out at Emirates Stadium. What has been said? Elneny has said in the Evening Standard: “Of course, for me I am always loyal to Arsenal. “And if Arsenal say to me: ‘Sign a new contract’, of course I would be happy to do this.” When does Elneny’s current deal expire?
